Can you Dig It?

Socks worn with open toe shoes. I've done so with tights, but not with socks. I think this looks best with frilly socks that come right above the ankle with a little ruffle, or knee highs. Reminds me of the socks my mom used to buy me when I was a little girl. Or this look can be used as a bail out if you are in dire need of a pedi.

Refinery29 did a post of well known bloggers to show their fashion and blog skills transformations over the past few years. Fun to see how style changes year to year and how often we look back sometimes in utter amazement of the things we wore. I don't think any time period had bad style, yet comparing fresh looks of the present to old and tired trends of the past, you kinda automatically judge negatively. Funny, though each trend in the past is somehow played into the current just with a fresh vibe and new perspective.  I think individual fashionistas get more daring and comfortable with themselves. For trends and style are set be people and followers of the same taste. These bloggers have had major influence over my own style and encouraged me to have the guts to start a blog. It all is so fun.

Vintage Dream

Polka Dots and Moonbeams
Vintage Shop

I have worked across the street from Polka Dots and Moonbeams new and vintage shops for nearly four years. The new at times can be pretty pricey so I don't always find myself shopping it. I decided to take my chances and check out the vintage shop down the way. As I browsed through all sorts of dresses from loud flowery too much going on, to soft and airy slips, I fell upon this little number and decided to give it a whirl. This thing may have been made for me. Zippered up by myself and fits like a glove. The girl at the shop was freaking out. (in a good way) Telling me it was meant to be. I was a bit unsure at first until a younger girl shopping told me she thought I was getting married in it. Both were sure someone once did. I took this as a good sign and couldn't walk away from it.

So once and for all this it the Rehearsal dinner choice. Now shoes on the other hand.......

Who Wears Short Shorts

I've never enjoyed wearing shorts out. This season I am all about em. I'm totally feelin the free flowing easy breezy fancy shorts selling at my favorite shops. I'm working on building up my collection. A very much needed staple go-to item in my closet to help me survive the summer's heat.

Flashback to High School

Being short has it's advantages and disadvantages. Although I wore these all the time in high school, I'm not so sure about now. I can already imagine feeling like a 12 yr old. I'm not  totally against overalls just yet. I am really diggin the whole denim trend. I actually took myself by surprise at how cool I think it all is.

Barefoot for a Day or a Moment

Tom's shoes founder Blake Mycoski has a challenge for all: to try and go barefoot for an entire day, a few hours, or simply a few moments to bring awareness to all those who go barefoot every day of their lives. Tom's shoes is a brilliant and charitable company. For every shoe you purchase, a pair is donated to a barefoot child. Their shoes are beyond comfortable. They were my saving grace in Europe. I think I will attempt the few moments barefoot ouside as my contriibution for today. I plan on buying all white pair for spring.

If these sites were human I'd get arrested for aggressive stalking.

Aside from my long list of favorite blogs I frequent I also  have my go-to shopping sites. I don't have OCD by any means, but when it comes to fashion I get all crazy and obsessive. I constantly check "what's new", sale, and dreamily add things to my cart in hopes of having in my possession.

urbanoutfitters.com

anthropologie.com

shopruche.com

modcloth.com

freepeople.com

The sites are all a one-stop- shop for all your needs with welcoming price tags.

Speaking Of Hair

I dyed my hair brown 5 months ago. I'm sure this color is somewhat close to my natural shade. Nice to know it works, especially for the winter time. The maintenance is incredible..there is none! But, I'm ready to go back to blonde. I've got an appointment set the week before Ash's wedding. I want to go super blonde, white blonde. I'm searching for pics with the perfect shade. Can't wait. Speaking of cool hair

To A Happy Marriage

Ever since my bestest Sheit, Ashley, started to plan her wedding, all things wedding have been on my mind. I am more into her wedding details than I was my own. I never had marriage on my mind. In my heart, I was married the moment I met my husband at age 15. We did end up getting married June 20, 2008 (12 yrs later). If I can give anyone, especially my girl, any advice on ways towards a happy marriage it would be this:

1. Be friends. 2. Communicate. 3. Appreciate. I won't explain in detail. Each relationship is different. My beliefs won't necessarily fit into your life.  Cheers!

This'll Catch Your Attention

"Pretty girl on a bicycle" has been a cultural icon. Apparently the site of women cycling was taking over the attention by many all over the world. Their vision was thus being exploited. Like the headline above, a barber used to get the attention of his clients.  Just goes to show how fancy pretty girls cycling is and recognizable by all.

What's Your Motto?

I was checking in on "what's new" at Free People. I stumbled upon their blog, blog.freepeople.com, set up by the peeps who work there. One fp employee was asked a few questions, one of those being, what is your motto? Her reply: “the world is a playground and life is pushing my swing” – natalie kocsis. Love this. My motto is: to each his own.
What's yours?

these will hopefully be my next purchase
